Quantitative Seismic Interpretation (QI) “Seismic Reservoir Characterization”
Subsurface Study
Exploration, Development, Drilling & Production.

Seismic reservoir characterization plays an essential role in integrated exploration and reservoir studies, as it provides our clients with an optimal understanding of the reservoir’s internal architecture and properties. We start our study from qualitative seismic interpretation to quantitative and seismic facies analysis which will be very beneficial for hydrocarbon in place accurate estimation and to be a key role for 3D reservoir static and dynamic modelling.
The workflow will be as follow;
• Quality check the sonic and density logs which will be used for Seismic Inversion.
• Rock-Physics Analysis for all wells in the study area.
• Amplitude Variation with Offset (AVO) analysis to identify the classes for Top & Base Reservoir.
• Generating AVO attributes “Intercept & Gradient cubes”.
• Identifying the AVO classes for the whole seismic data.
• Fluid replacement/substitution modeling (FRM) study for the wells to identify the AVO classes change over each will location for all changes in fluid content.
• Wavelet extraction sensitivity analysis.
• Inversion feasibility study for inversion type optimization, using rock-physics cross plots.
• Pre-stack & Post-stack seismic inversion analysis & sensitivity analysis.
• Converting seismic data into an inverted data.
• Fluid and lithology discrimination by converting the inverted seismic cube into facies cube “lithology & fluid”.
• Gas sand & water sand geobody extraction from the facies cube.
• Integrating all quantitative interpretation techniques.
• Volumetrics “HCIIP”, hydrocarbon initial in place calculation using the quantitative seismic interpretation result “Gas Sand Geobody”.
